About Omaki
Omaki is a neighbourhood marketplace operated by Mingo People Experiences (Pty) Ltd (Registration No: 2024/179107/07), trading as Omaki. By using Omaki you agree to these terms.
Your Account
You must be 18 or older to use Omaki. You are responsible for keeping your account secure. Omaki is available to South African residents only.
Buying on Omaki
Mingo People Experiences (Pty) Ltd acts as merchant of record for all transactions on the Omaki platform. Payments are collected by Omaki on behalf of vendors and processed securely via PayGate by PayFast by Network. Subject to availability and receipt of payment, orders and bookings will be confirmed within 1 business day via in-app notification and email. For physical goods, delivery is arranged directly between buyer and vendor; delivery costs and timelines are set by the vendor at listing. For services, the confirmed appointment date constitutes delivery.
Selling on Omaki
Vendors must list only legitimate products and services available to South African buyers. Prohibited items include illegal goods, counterfeit products, and anything that violates South African law. Omaki reserves the right to remove listings and suspend accounts that violate these rules. Vendors authorise Omaki to collect payment on their behalf and agree to receive payouts after deduction of the applicable platform fee.
Omaki Wallet
Your Omaki Wallet displays your available balance on the platform, reflecting payments received and purchases made. All funds flow through Mingo People Experiences (Pty) Ltd as the merchant of record for all transactions. Vendor earnings are paid out via EFT to your registered bank account. A flat service fee applies per purchase, tiered by transaction value (see Platform Fees).
Platform Fees
Omaki charges vendors a tiered commission and platform fee per transaction, deducted from the vendor payout. Buyers are charged a flat service fee per transaction in addition to the listed price.
Vendor fees (deducted from payout):
Transactions up to R200: 4% platform fee + 8% commission = 12% total
Transactions R201–R500: 4% platform fee + 9% commission = 13% total
Transactions R501–R1,000: 4% platform fee + 7% commission = 11% total
Transactions R1,001–R5,000: 3% platform fee + 6% commission = 9% total
Transactions R5,001 and above: 3.5% platform fee + 6.5% commission = 10% total
Buyer service fee (added to listed price):
Transactions up to R200: R5
Transactions R201–R500: R10
Transactions R501–R1,000: R15
Transactions R1,001–R5,000: R25
Transactions R5,001 and above: R50
Returns and Refunds
The provision of goods and services on Omaki is subject to vendor availability. In cases of unavailability, Mingo People Experiences (Pty) Ltd will refund the buyer in full within 30 days. Cancellation of orders before fulfilment may attract an administration fee of up to 10%. For disputes regarding goods received or services rendered, buyers may open a dispute via the Omaki platform within 48 hours of the scheduled delivery or service date. Omaki will mediate and, where applicable, process a refund within 14 business days.
Disputes
Disputes between buyers and vendors should first be resolved directly. If unresolved, contact us at sawubona@omaki.co.za. Omaki will mediate but cannot guarantee outcomes.
Payment Options
Payment may be made via Visa or Mastercard. All card transactions are acquired via PayFast by Network, the approved payment gateway for all South African acquiring banks. PayFast by Network uses Secure Socket Layer 3 (SSL3) encryption. No card details are stored on the Omaki website or app. Users may visit https://payfast.io to view PayFast by Network's security certificate and security policy.
Customer Privacy
Mingo People Experiences (Pty) Ltd takes all reasonable steps to protect the personal information of users in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). Customer account details are stored separately from card details, which are entered on PayFast by Network's secure payment page. Transaction Currency
The merchant outlet country is South Africa. All transactions are processed in South African Rand (ZAR).
Responsibility
Mingo People Experiences (Pty) Ltd takes responsibility for all aspects of transactions conducted on this platform, including the sale of goods and services, customer service and support, dispute resolution, and delivery of goods.
Country of Domicile
This platform is governed by the laws of South Africa. Mingo People Experiences (Pty) Ltd chooses as its domicilium citandi et executandi: Shongweni, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
Changes to These Terms
Mingo People Experiences (Pty) Ltd may update these terms at any time without notice. We will notify you of meaningful changes via email or the app.
